AFM buys Channel Islands' arm of UK fire alarm company

AFM has expanded its fire alarm expertise with the purchase of the Channel Islands’ arm of ARC Fire Safety Limited.

The Southampton-based company began working in Guernsey in 2003 when it was appointed by the Education Department to design, fit and commission radio fire alarm systems to island schools. It established a local office in 2008 to service its expanding client base in Guernsey, Jersey and Alderney.

‘AFM has developed a close relationship with ARC and we have worked with them on a number of projects including restaurants, businesses and residential developments. As the workload of ARC in Guernsey and the UK had increased, the managing director agreed to allow AFM to purchased the Channel Islands’ business base,’ said AFM’s commercial director Darren Etasse.

Former ARC sales and technical manager Steve Bonsall has moved to AFM as client relationship manager following the purchase of the business.

‘ AFM has developed a reputation of being a forward-thinking company which delivers the very best services to their clients. We now have the ability to design and install full radio-based fire alarm detection systems which provide clients with the safety and security they need without having to damage walls or cause major inconvenience to the day to day operation of the building. meaning no redecoration costs for clients who have the requirement for a fire alarm but do not wish to any distribution to their staff or building fabric.
